Flying Shear Roll Forming Machines

Flying shear roll-forming machines are a type of metal roll-forming machine that uses a flying shear to cut the metal strip to length while it is still in motion. This allows for the continuous production of metal shapes and profiles at high speeds.

Flying shear roll-forming machines find their place in construction, automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing industries. They are used to produce various metal products, such as roof panels, wall panels, framing members, chassis rails, body panels, exhaust systems, aircraft wings, fuselage panels, engine parts, and appliances.

Benefits of flying shear roll forming machines

Flying shear roll forming machines offer many benefits over traditional metal roll forming machines, including:

• Increased production rates: Flying shear roll forming machines can operate at much higher speeds than traditional metal roll forming machines. This is because the flying shear can cut the metal strip to length while still in motion.
• Reduced waste: Flying shear roll-forming machines reduce waste by cutting the metal strip to the required length. This eliminates the need to scrap excess metal.
• Improved quality: Flying shear roll forming machines produce high-quality metal shapes and profiles with clean, precise cuts.
• Increased flexibility: Flying shear roll-forming machines are more flexible than traditional metal ones. This is because they can be used to produce a broader range of metal shapes and profiles.

How flying shear roll forming machines work

Flying shear roll-forming machines pass a continuous strip of metal through a series of rollers. The rollers are arranged in a specific sequence to progressively bend and shape the metal into the desired profile. The flying shear is located at the end of the roll-forming machine and cuts the metal strip to length while it is still in motion.

Applications of flying shear roll forming machines

Flying shear roll forming machines are used in a wide range of industries, including:

• Construction: Flying shear roll forming machines produce various metal building materials, such as roof panels, wall panels, and framing members.
• Automotive: Flying shear roll-forming machines can be used in car manufacturing to create automotive components, such as chassis rails, body panels, and exhaust systems.
• Aerospace: Flying shear roll-forming machines are used in the aviation industry for aerospace components, such as aircraft wings, fuselage panels, and engine parts.
• Manufacturing: Flying shear roll-forming machines are employed to create various manufactured goods, such as appliances, electronics, and machinery.

The future of flying shear roll-forming machines

Evolving technology means that flying shear roll-forming machines will only continue to improve efficiency, making them sought after by a wide range of industries.

Conclusion

Flying shear roll-forming machines are the future of high-speed metal roll-forming. Their advantages over more traditional roll-forming methods are unquestionable and can increase production rates, reduce waste, improve quality, and increase flexibility.
